Outdoor Landscaping Trends - Whats hot?

13 December 2017

Not ones to sit back and wait for the trends to come to them, Tile Depot are once again staying ahead of the curve with the new practical yet stunning style straight out of a resort – Porcelain Pavers. If you’re thinking of designing your outdoor area fit for everything, from family comfort to entertaining ‘X-factor’, the new 2cm Porcelain Pavers will be the go to for landscape style in 2018 and beyond.

The Porcelain Pavers can be used in a number of ways. They are the first complete system of floor coverings and special trims in 20 mm thick porcelain stoneware for turning gardens, swimming pools, walkways, backyards and terraces into stunning settings that are both practical and pleasant. Available in 13 colour-ways in 600 x 600, 2cm Porcelain Pavers allow everyone to find the look they love.

The Tile Depot team recently presented the new Porcelain pavers at the Zones Landscaping Design Forum in Auckland and the response was hugely positive. “One of the key benefits with porcelain tiles is the ability to create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow matching the tile finish and level between spaces. This is particularly relevant in regard to the growing trend of outdoor rooms and kitchen spaces adjoining the house. The other key benefits being the low level of maintenance required and stain resistance making them even more appropriate for use in outdoor cooking and swimming pool areas,” says Zones Landscape Architect, Nichola Vague. “Due to their strength, the Porcelain Pavers can be used with a variety of laying systems including over compacted gravel and mortar base or as a raised flooring system with the ability to drain like a deck and create a flush indoor-outdoor transition”

“These features combined with the choice of colours and finish means they offer endless possibilities for our projects, the only limit being your imagination.”

QUICK TIP: Cacti, succulents and other drought-tolerant plants are a hot garden feature that’s bound to be featured in backyards across the country. Lined Porcelain pavers against these Palm Springs inspired gardens will keep you on trend well into the year. They’re also harder to kill – so for perfect if you like less maintenance!

Zones Landscaping Specialists are found throughout the country and can help you with more gardening and landscaping advice and inspiration.
