A breathtaking blend of texture and tranquillity. Alex and Corban Walls have created an unforgettable bathroom at their Whananaki Beach Retreat, layering the raw beauty of Fornace Verde Muschio and Fornace Argilla Naturale tiles across the floors, walls, and bespoke vanity. The rich, rustic brick-effect tiles ground the space in earthy greenery and warmth, while the crisp white bathware and minimalist mirrors bring a soft, crisp modern edge. Ensuite
The ensuite features Fornace Argilla Naturale - the sandy-toned sister tile to the incredible green Fornace Verde Muschio used in the main bathroom. With the same stunning tactile brick effect, these warm, earthy tones evoke calm and serenity, perfectly echoing the organic hues found throughout the home and the Whananaki coastline beyond. A custom-tiled vanity becomes a true showpiece here, adorned in a minimalist, clay-toned mosaic tile—Terra Cappi Mosaic—with beautifully mitred detailing. Used both on the vanity and across the floor, Terra Cappi reinforces that earthy palette while adding depth and subtle texture to this tranquil space. Simply magnificent.
Tiles Used in this Project
Award winning Fornace Tile collection: The Fornace tile collection has won multiple design awards, including the Archello Awards and the Archiproducts Design Awards in 2023. Specifically, the Miniature Fornace collection, part of the larger Fornace line, received the Archello award for Wall Finish of the Year (public vote). The collection, known for its glazed porcelain and ancient brick aesthetic, is designed for interior walls.
