PEI: ?PEI rating is a measurement of the tiles resistance to abrasion i.e. how much wear and tear the tile can handle It is measured on a scale from 1 to 5 which fit into the following categories: PEI 0 & 1 WALL TILES ONLY PEI 2 LIGHT TRAFFIC I.E BATHROOM FLOORS PEI 3 MOST RESIDENTIAL APPLICATIONS PEI 4 LIGHT COMMERCIAL PEI 5 HEAVY COMMERCIAL AND INTENSE TRAFFIC Unfortunately not all factories test their products. Antislip Rating: ?There are two main slip testing methods referred to in the NZ Building code. The most common is called a pendulum test which offers a scale from P0 - P5 that reflects the likelihood of slipping. P0 is very high risk through to P5 which is very low risk. The second is called a ramp test which is prominent from European suppliers. The ramp test has a similar scale from R9 through to R13 - the higher the number the higher the slip resistance.
