FAQ's
How long will it take for my delivery to arrive?
Once we receive your payment, we aim to process all orders within 24 hours. Delivery time after that will depend on your location and the delivery services available, but most North Island towns can be reached within 2 or 3 days. Samples and small orders will be couriered, but larger orders will require carrier delivery.
Are Porcelain tiles better?
Porcelain tiles are made from a finer grade of clay and fired at higher temperatures resulting in a strong dense tile that is particularly suitable for outdoors (frost proof) and wet areas such as shower cubicles.
Porcelain tiles can be either glazed or unglazed. Unglazed porcelain is extremely durable as the material is the same throughout so does not show wear, although some unglazed porcelains need sealing as protection against staining.
What if I buy too many tiles?
It is important that you keep some spare tiles as they are your only means of repairing damaged tiles or where rooms or appliances have been altered. The firing process during manufacturing causes colour shading and or sizes to vary with every batch so the odds of finding an identical replacement at a later date are virtually nil.
We will accept returns of full boxes only, provided they are returned to our East Tamaki warehouse in good condition within 14 days of supply and accompanied by a copy of the original purchase invoice. A 20% handling fee will be deducted from any refund.
What if I need to amend/make additions to my order?
Please ensure that you have ordered the correct amount of tiles you require, any additions, or amendments will be subject to the minimum delivery charge due to freight costs once the order has been processed, or if a few tiles are required, they will need to be ordered as samples. We cannot guarantee we will have stock of the same batch as your original purchase or even the same tile given the frequency with which tile ranges change.
How do I know which Glues and Grouts to use?
There are so many factors that effect which Glues and Grouts you should be using that the safest option is to contact us for advice and a quotation. We will provide a recommendation that considers the floor surface (i.e. timber or concrete), flexibility and waterproofing issues.
What are rectified tiles?
Most tiles are produced by the pressing of clay and ingredients into a mould then firing at high temperatures during which there are variations in the amount the clay shrinks. The tiles are then sorted so that in any lot there should not be a variance of more than 0.5% in size.
Rectified tiles are sawn after production so that sizing is all but perfect. In theory rectified tiles can be laid without a grout joint but in practice this is pretty much impossible so don’t even try! Rectified tiles do produce a beautiful and contemporary finish.
